Vancouver in mid-September generally offers agreeable weather. You can likely anticipate daytime temperatures will range from the mid-60s to the low 70s Fahrenheit (mid-teens to low 20s Celsius), making it suitable for outdoor activities. Evenings will likely be cooler, averaging around 50F (10C), perfect for a cozy evening after a day of sightseeing.
Early Arrival Ideas
For those arriving early, Vancouver offers a variety of additional activities and attractions to make your visit unforgettable. Explore the bustling Granville Island Market (perhaps take a water taxi!) or enjoy shopping downtown. Consider taking a Vancouver City Hop on Hop off Tour for a comprehensive overview or visiting the fascinating Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. TRAVELING TIPS



From Vancouver International Airport (YVR) you are about 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) away from Fairmont Waterfront, or about a 25-minute drive.
These are a few of the transportation options available:
TAXI / UBER
Taxis are readily available at designated taxi stands outside the Arrivals level of the terminal. For Uber and other ride-sharing services the designated pickup location is usually on Level 2 for International Arrivals, or Level 3 for Domestic Arrivals).
SKYTRAIN
The Canada Line directly connects YVR Airport Station to Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver. From Waterfront Station, the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel is a short walk via underground connections or street level.
TOWNCAR
Pre-booked car service offers a more comfortable ride. You can reach out to the Fairmont Waterfront for assistance in booking this service.
AIRPORT CAR RENTAL
Several major car rental companies have counters located in the Rental Car Center at YVR. Consider renting a car if you would like to have more flexibility to explorer Vancouver and the surrounding areas.
